Monday Morning Blah's

Oh the trials of a Monday morning.  It started out well.  A lovely nights sleep.  I turned on the coffee maker. Then took the puppies for a walk.  Got back just in time.  It's been pouring ever since.  I love a good thunder storm, but the eldest puppy does not.  The tough guy only sees the dark clouds coming and he is reduced to a quivery pile of fur beneath my feet.  The thunder struck, puppy jumped up, coffee went down.  Everywhere.  Poor puppy.  I feel so bad for him.  His brother couldn't care less about storms.  I wish they could learn from each other.

This summer I've been engrossed in bead-work.  Learning beading stitches.  Making all kinds of jewelry.  It seems that I'm a seasonal crafter.  Beading in the summer.  For the colder months, I used to like crochet, but not any more. I'm strictly a knitting gal.  When I felt a cooler breeze in the air today, what was the first thing I reached for?  UFO's.  Unfinished objects.  Knitting that's been sitting around waiting to be finished.  I'm dying to start a new project, with some beautiful new yarn, but I feel the pressure.  So I reached for a bag of unfinished socks.  Ugh!  Such a mess.  Last year I decided to organized my knitting.  So every time people I know buy something like new sheets, they give me the little plastic bags that they come in.  All different sizes, and so much sturdier than zip lock.  Whenever I have a project, I get out one of these bags, put in the project itself, the needles, all the yarn needed and a copy of the pattern.

I don't know what happened to this pair of socks.  Only one skein of yarn is in the bag.  The yarn was tangled beyond belief.  It took me listening through two podcasts of Yarngasm before I got everything separated.  But where is the pattern?  And the sock label?  I was seriously slacking with this project.  All I have is a tiny one inch note telling me that I'm 18 rows into the foot.  Sigh!  I'll figure it out.  Maybe if I find the other skein, the pattern will be with it.

Any knitters out there?  What do you do to keep your projects safe while your on hiatus?
