Oh, deer!

I've been planting some stunning flowers between my neighbor and myself.  They are a little straggly right now, but come this time next year, it will be a virtual hedge of flowers.  So I thought.  I few days ago, I noticed the tops are getting snipped off.  Deer!  I love the deer, and I love my flowers, but I don't love the deer eating my flowers.   I know there are many products on the market, but I'm trying to keep my world organic.  I've heard of doing a number of things to keep the deer away.  Sprinkle your garlic peels around your flowers.  Save your hair when you get it cut and do the same as the garlic peels.  Hang shiny things to catch the light and frighten them away.  But all of this just seems so tacky.  Then my neighbor's mother was visiting and we got to talking.  What's the solution?  Society garlic.  It's a plant that almost looks like chives but with a purple flower that resembles tiny star fish.  It looks beautiful, and smells like garlic.  A win win situation if you ask me.
