Super Bowl Inspiration

Lately I've been doing a lot of knitting and I thought, hey, the Super Bowl is coming up.  I wonder if I can make a hat inspired by one of the teams in time for the Super Bowl.  And I did!  The pattern is my own, and the hat is finished.  It looked so good, I put it in my Etsy Store for people to not only see, but purchase.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

This is my Go Bronco's!!!  Hat.

Pixar inspired colorway!!!

Shop Update for June 5, 2015

You may think about your yarn colors, but have you wondered, what do they say about you? Well, Outside In was inspired by the new Pixar movie Inside out. Here is a small blurp about the up coming cartoon movie:

Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy (Amy Poehler) -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

This is what I see when a summer storm races across the field in Florida. The sky will change from a light sparkling blue to an ominous dark shade as the rain follows right behind. Summer Storms is a tonal yarn that will change from light, medium and then to a deep shade of blue. You won't get wet with this yarn!

Shop update for Friday May 29, 2015

Rainbow Brite

Rainbow Brite is a party in a skein. A bright and zesty yarn that will dance off your needles or hook. It's a limited edition that you don't want to miss with colors of bright blue, hot pink, green, yellow and orange. If you can't make it to the party, let the party come to you.

Confetti Cake Batter

Remember adding fruit or candied confetti to cake batter as a child? Then the colors bled ever so slightly into the batter. Remember the taste, all creamy and buttery with little pops of flavor? That's what you will get with Confetti Cake Batter. It is a speckled buttered apricot, with pops of purple and green. As you work this yarn you will have little drops of purple and green that pop out. It is soft and squishy, perfect to wear next to the skin.

My organically creative start

You ever dream of writing the great american novel?  Or spend a summer in France painting the Eiffel Tower?  Then the years slowly drip away and you look back wondering.  What if?  So here I am.  I've spent my entire life loving all things creative, artistic, unique, and green.  Not necessarily together.  Of course I would like them to be.  Who wouldn't?  Then...

I've had a breakthrough in life.  Decided to just go for it.  I love the green world, and I love the artistic world,  so why not just do what I love, and learn to do the rest.  What am I waiting for?  Two years ago, I started the garden.  (I was thinking organic)  How fun it would be to have a pretty little garden, free from pesticides, which I could just stroll through and pick to my hearts content.  I'm not actually a vegetable lover.  So I built it.  Actually, I keep adding on.  Sweet little boxes made from things I could find.  I used lumber in the yard for a couple sections, brick in a couple of sections, one section is made from a door frame my neighbor was throwing out, and another is a gardening kit box my other neighbor gave me.  There are pathways leading you through this bit of paradise.  Then the rain came this year.  I'll finish that another time.

Then I got chickens.  I'm up to four.  Something about the heat.  Only one egg a day.  It's from a different girl each time.  How do they decide who lays?  Rock, paper, scissors?  I'm trying to figure that one out.

Finally, last week, I decided to sell my jewelry.  If you want to see it go to Etsy.com and look up Packyknits Design.  That's the name of my shop.

Ahh, the excitement, the trepidation, and the wonderment.  I'm in a panic, and I want to pee in my pants.  What will happen?  Can I do it?  Can I live a green life?  What else can I learn about the art world?  Can I combine the two?  We'll see.  But I'm gonna go for it.  I'm going to do all the creative things that I had always wanted to do.  Let's see how much.
