I finally did it! Recently a family member asked me if I would make them a pair of leg warmers. She wanted something that she could just pull on and off to keep her legs warm, and wanted to keep her feet free. I cringed at the thought. After all, socks are long enough, wouldn't leg warmers take forever? So, after thinking about it and looking through my stash, I agreed to do it.
I wanted a large cuff both top and bottom, then I opted to do a repeating pattern with a lot of texture. I couldn't be more pleased! They came out fantastic, and the recipient was thrilled to bits. Not to mention, with the yarn that I used from stash, they knitted up so quickly. That was a relief!
Originally, I had chosen to use a rich purple, more like a royal purple for the leg warmers, but for fear of not having enough yarn, I also opted for a green yarn for the cuffs. Upon looking at them once finished, I thought "Grapes"! Not only do the colors remind me of the fruit, but also the pattern. Hence the name: Hot Grapes Leg Warmers.
If you want to check them out, I'm currently selling them in my Etsy shop so here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/171337164/hot-grapes-leg-warmers-pattern?ref=shop_home_active
Tell me what you think. I love this pattern so much that I plan to make it for a couple of dancers that I know. Of course I'll change the colors to make each one unique.
