Remember the crafts you did as a child, or the little skills your mom would try to teach you? I was thinking about how my mother used to try to teach me embroidery. We would have my friend Stephanie over and try to attempt it. I would always forget how to do the different stitches, but ma would patiently repeat and repeat. I have no idea where my little samples went. Maybe they weren't that great. But I remember them as being fabulous. (they probably weren't) It's that whole rear view mirror mentality. Things appear larger thank they are. Or closer. Or better.
Anyway, I do remember getting to a certain point and thinking I doubt I'll do this again in life. No point continuing. Now I want to. SEE? This is why parents shouldn't allow their kids to just give up. If I had kept up with it, I wouldn't be scrambling through Pinterest looking for embroidery videos. By the way, did you know they had videos? Dozens just on embroidery tutorials alone. I love it there. It's become my safe haven. Having a bad day? Go to the blissful world of Pinterest. Yes, I've mentioned it before and just to warn you, I may again. However, every time I go there, I find something new. This week embroidery. Maybe next week will be childhood songs.
No silly that's not mine. Did you think I was that good?
